💰 Salary and Perks (Level 10)

One of the biggest attractions of this job is the salary structure. Selected Technical Officers will be placed in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).

  • Basic Pay: ₹56,100/-
  • Dearness Allowance (DA): As per current Central Govt rates (approx. 58% as of late 2025).
  • Allowances: House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), Medical Facilities (CSMA/CGHS), and Children Education Assistance.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Maximum Age: 30 Years (as on 31.10.2025).
  • Relaxations: 3 years for OBC (NCL) and 5 years for SC/ST candidates applying against reserved posts.
2. Educational Qualification You need a full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E. / B.Tech) with a minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA).

Selection Process

TRAI follows a transparent, merit-based selection process that gives significant weightage to your GATE performance.

  1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted for the interview in a 1:8 ratio (8 candidates for every 1 vacancy) based on their GATE Score.
  1. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview at TRAI Headquarters, New Delhi.
  1. Final Merit List: Calculated as follows:
  • GATE Score: 80% Weightage
  • Personal Interview: 20% Weightage
