SEBI Officer Grade A 2025 Eligibility Criteria Eligibility varies by stream. Below are the details extracted from the SEBI’s advance notification:
1. General Stream - Qualification:
Master’s Degree / Post Graduate Diploma (minimum two years) in any discipline,
OR Bachelor’s Degree in Law / Engineering,
OR Professional qualification such as CA, CFA, CS, or CMA.
2. Legal Stream - Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized university. - Desirable:
Minimum two years of post-qualification experience as an Advocate or in a Law firm.
3. Information Technology (IT) Stream - Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in any branch,
OR Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a Postgraduate qualification (minimum two years) in Computer Science, IT, or Computer Applications.
4. Research Stream - Qualification:
Master’s Degree / PG Diploma (two years) in Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Econometrics, Finance, Statistics, Data Science, AI/ML, Big Data Analytics, or related quantitative fields.
5. Official Language Stream - Qualification:
Master’s Degree in Hindi / Hindi Translation with English at the Bachelor’s level,
OR Master’s Degree in Sanskrit / English / Economics / Commerce with Hindi as a subject at Bachelor’s level.
6. Engineering (Electrical) Stream - Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. - Desirable:
Experience in handling electronic systems, lifts, fire alarms, HVAC systems, and construction project management.
7. Engineering (Civil) Stream - Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. - Desirable:
Experience in structural design, project management (PERT/CPM), CAD tools, and maintenance of office or residential properties.
Age Limit (as on 30 September 2025) - Maximum Age: 30 years (Candidate must be born on or after October 1, 1995).

SEBI Grade A Selection Process 2025 The SEBI Grade A Exam is conducted in three phases: Phase I – Online Screening Examination
- Two papers conducted online.
- Objective-type questions to test reasoning, English, quantitative aptitude, and awareness of the securities market.
Phase II – Online Examination - Consists of two advanced-level papers.
- Tests stream-specific knowledge and analytical ability.
